Thought I posted this question earlier...

When a date is 'massaged'...isn't the surface of the housing altered?

I would think it would have to be ground down or milled to create a clean surface for the re-stamp...

just trying to understand the process.

I agree.
I looked as best I could for signs of the surface being &quot;massaged&quot;, but it looks pretty even around the 37.
