The basic transmission is the same...but there are a number of special features that were added to the CX units that lived behind the solid lifter big block cars.
There is a dedicated thread in this section that talks about the special features; https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/ubbthrea...imil#Post102599 The CX unit was a HD tranny...built to take the added torque of the hi-horse big blocks...it included a 6 lug hi-stall converter, hi-shift point governor and many other parts exclusive to the application. Any TH400 can be built to these specs...you just need someone who understands the details. wilma
