So you are thinking of going anything over 10:5:1 cruise. Mixing gas is a pain.

We recently did 14+-1 for the street. I have found that there is no "golden rule" for pump gas. That's just my finding.

I too like the "OLDe SCHOOL" or "PERIOD CORRECT" style stuff. It's alot harder to do with old, cheap out-dated stuff then the current stuff.

You haven"t said what it's going in?? FYI I did a 396 (402)/375Hp L-78 OEM bottom end (11.5-1 TRW std bore), but added ARM bolts, 840 heads, Comp 660 roller cam, 1.73 roller off Ford Cleveland, Strip dom intake and Holley 800. 1969 Nova M-21 and 4.56 12 bolt. Heads were home-ported and car went 10.47 FIRST and only FULL 1/4 mile hit. This was in about 1996/97 time. So you should be EASY to hit your goal if Brandywine did the 990's. I think your going to be 9's if your using the TR.

I'm putting together 4 motors like this. The above mentioned L-78 396, 427-390Hp, ZL-1 and ZLX. I have 3 tunnelrams and 9 intakes. ZLX is going to be set-up with at LEAST 12.5-1 comp and a Eddy TR2-X tunnelram, just not sure if it will be 4150 or 4500 carbs as I have one of each.

Good luck, should be fun! my L-78 style 10.40 motor was when it was streeted. Shifting just over 8200 yippy!

It's going in a 69 camaro, that's why I asked about your grump lump! Hahaha. Yeah I think it should hit low 10's with out a problem. As for the race gas I've built a few race gas "street" cars and other than the price of the race gas I really don't mind. EZ NOVA your set ups sound badass! Any pics??
