![]() Best may be lay your VIN out here hoping a member can maybe try their own sources also so anyone ever searching the Vin online finds this thread. Keep digging and give it a bit of time also try from a few different angles too as it's often surprising which leads pan out. Your car is very cool, what of the engine and any original drivetrain parts? ~ Pete

Pete I appreciate your input , I have spent quite some time to get the information I have so far. Jerry MacNeish suggested contacting MD DMV which I did to turn up some of this information so far.
I'm very passionate about this car which is still a project car. Its mainly original paint and sheet metal , still with the mods in the pictures which is how I believe it has been for some time. I'm keeping my fingers crossed here - so here goes.... Its Factory 67 RS SS 396 4speed. Born with motor and trans currently missing.(Would love to reunite them with the car if I can find them) NCRS shippers indicates sold new by Lustine Chevrolet Hyattsville MD , originally titled in VA in mid 67 , titled in MD around a year later in mid 68. GMAC financed new for $3529.64 (struck me as a lot for a low optioned car)at Washington DC. Refinanced just over a year later in 68 with National Capital Bank Washington DC. I have a redacted copy of original when new title in VA which has title number on it. I have a redacted copy of original MD application for certificate of title 1968 ( has some numbers stamped into lower RH side of page - Appears to be registration tag number and title number. I have a redacted copy of assignment of title by registered owners MD I have a certificate of inspection by Silver Spring American (something missing from this name?) 7901 (maybe incorrect number hard to read) Georgia Ave MD mid 68 with inspectors number as well as the document number. I have a redacted piece of paper which might be the registration stub which showed payment receipt , tag numbers and a lot of other numbers etc printed on it. I also have Washington (STATE not DC) registration plates (1968 base plate type which I believe was used until the 1978 base plate came out) which have a 1986 decal which also has a number also on that. I have names of a husband and wife who owned the car East of San Francisco in the Fairfield CA area around 2000 - 2004. The man worked in an exhaust shop in Fairfield CA. I believe they may had owned the car in Washington State and it may have never been registered in CA. I could have many of the details above wrong so even if you can clarify anything you see I may have wrong would also be appreciated. Anyone know what the unknown doc is? Also if anyone has copies of the paperwork they used at the DMV in 68 as I described above I could look at because one of my copies is far from clear. (I would love to get clearer copies , but I'm far from MD and the DMV don't seem too interested) Anyone who can offer any assistance or suggestions would be greatly appreciated as the previous owners of these cars are slowly dropping off one by one and I would like to put together the history of this car. The people who once had contact numbers for the lady that owned the car no longer have her number or even know where she is. I figure she is now in her mid 60's and believe the husband had passed close to 10 years ago now. Please help if you can..... VIN is 124377N206342 |

No Paul ,
I spoke with the guy who has taken over the shop from the owner , who knew the people but that's as far as it goes. Old contact number is no good. Its really frustrating so close yet so far. Need someone who has an in at NCIB or some thing because these previous owners are dropping off nowadays. |
