Roughing It On An Epic Road Trip

Yes, I did change the hub caps. Banged the originals back on. A parts driver traded my 3 SS caps for 2 in the last picture.

We made it home today! Glad to be back and anxious to clean the Impala up. With the air filter change, MPG's went up to 18 and 19.

Today took us through Albuquerque, Gallup, a fuel stop in Holbrook, AZ, Windslow, Flagstaff, then south on the 17 to home. Felt surreal driving that car into my neighborhood. What a great adventure! We've been chatting about our favorite road trip parts ever since. The best motel was the Best Western in Frankfort, KY and there was a tie for crappiest, the "Luxury" Inn of Mustang, OK and the disComfort Inn in Towson, MD. Best meal was at the Big Texan, and the best green beans were are the Rock Cafe.

Very thankful I had the opportunity to do this with my son. Hope I get the opportunity again.
