There were three different types for the Impala. The black and silver foil "SS427" inlay which was used on early Z24 cars, the all metal embossed "427" side marker used on late production (and all of the 427 big cars but non Z24) and the red "427" foil inlay. It is also my understanding that some Canadian cars received the red foil inlays. I have never seen any documentation on the emblems in all the years I have owned or researched these cars.
