I have several sets of NOS for my car...will get a pic..

The only thing I can add is always run 2 separate lines. That way if one shock blows out both quarters are not taken out LOL..I'm actually having my springs rearched and had small custom made shackles to lift the car up in the rear--air shocks will hopefully be more for looks.

I could never understand what the black band decal is for on the air shocks..can anyone tell me?

Yes, have been running 2 lines for 45 years. Good point Dave. The new Gabriels are REEEAAAL close to what they were in the early 70's.

Where did you guys mount the valves? We put the valves in the very rear of the trunk (so no one could screw with 'em). A lot of guys in our area located them on the bumper behind the license plate on Chevelles / novas / Camaros.

I just recreated the black band on my repro Gabriels in order to make them look like the old ones. I may have used black duct tape as that was what the original shocks black band looked like to me. I can see not function for the band other than visual aesthetics!
