I happened to see this '67 427 Corvette for sale with NCRS paperwork stating it was a Nickey sold car. Price is $225k and the car appears to need a complete cosmetic resto, so the price is considerably more than I would expect for this car. I assume the seller is looking for more money based on the Nickey heritage. What do you guys think the actual premium for a Nickey sold car would be? I have a lead on a Nickey 396 Camaro (which was only sold new at Nickey, and not modified by Nickey in any way), so I'm trying to estimate how much more I should consider paying beyond 396 Camaro prices.
Thanks for the help. http://tinyurl.com/pf7hcp9 |

The car is not worth 1/2 the asking price. Be very careful.

The car looks cool the way it is. The asking price is way out there though.

----Unless the plate is worth $150,000 the car wouldn't interest me. There are loads of really nice restored Marlboro Maroon/427/435s out there that are close to perfect. Even a couple of low-mile unrestored ones that all can be bought for between $100,000 and $175,000. Those ones are mostly unsold at the moment......Bill S

i recall a similar conversation about nickey sold cars a while bacy when mike guarise was welling his collection and generally believed that 5-10% premium could apply......depending of course on the docs to back it up.

It isn't a 435 hp. It's a 400 hp.

My experienced is what a NicKey sold muscle car will fetch in the open market has no set formula and thus market value is usually determined on a case by case basis. |

----I understand, Charley. Just making a point as 435s are more valuable than 400s, as you know......Bill S
