Dan and I both had the same contact to get a perfect gas tank pad.

70Post Patton Glade on Classic Oldsmobile.

Patton has been jumping in on my thread from time to time and we got to meet briefly at MCACN so I am excited to buy one of his gas tank pads to say thanks for the support!!!!!!

Getting prepared for Sat:-)

Stopped by last night to test fit a few lifting brackets to simplify the rigging. Need to pack up two engine hoists, shackles, straps, etc.

A few of the pictures show the wood blocking between the frame and the body, a few gas tank pictures, and a few showing the floor pan and frame.

Ryan

Removing all the interior, glass and doors would make your task a lot easier. The lighter the body the better. That way you can lift it by the trunk latch brace in the rear and by the top two fender bolt holes on the top of the cowl. That way requires two cherry pickers. You also can use the seat belt bolt holes from the interior, which only requires one cherry picker. Either way, you need to have the body as light as possible.

I removed my convertible body years ago by pulling the rear up first, using the seat belt anchors. Then lifting the front using the front body mounts. Only one cherry picker needed.

I have used 4 chains (or 2 long ones) In a criss cross pattern attatched to the rear seat belt mounts and there are two holes suitable for lifting by the kick panel area. put the engine hoist in the middle and lift. the car will be a tad back heavy but with a buddy or two they can lift and guide the chassis out of the way. I'd hate to see the body sway on you and make those firewall brackets distort anything.

Thanks for the words of wisdom!!

I will combine these nuggets with the plan we have if she doesn't want to go vertical:-)

"Team Weaver" all headed out full of piss and vinegar tonight to buy a parts car, 1969 Oldsmobile Cutlass S Convertible. Gold, gold, white top, 350 column auto.

We are returning empty handed, what a steaming pipe of s##t!!!

Seller honestly felt a lot of the car was usable, but he is incorrect:-(

Wasted some money tonight but some time spent together is ok by me:-)

I don't stay mad long:-)

Now let's get some dinner!!!!

Ryan

What do you need that you'd get off a parts car???
