Default Re: Not only Camaros get faked

----I hesitate to tell you guys this story as I seem to have been a lot of places where strange stuff happened in my youth, but here goes. In 1965-6 I was dating a girl (Linda) in Wellesley Mass. Her dad (a doctor) had a Ferrari, a 330GT I think. I used to drool over it. Then one day when I went over to pick her up after a bit of time had gone by and he had a different Ferrari in the garage. I used to read every car mag I could get my hands on and I recognized this Ferrari as a 250 GTO immediately. While I was very interested, as the car was beautiful to look at, I really didn't know about its history or rarity. It was just a very cool Ferrari to me. The funny thing is that her dad was in the garage working on it when I walked in. Believe it or not he was cutting two 3-inch or so HOLES in the back of the hood with a hole saw. He had just finished the first hole and (I know how stupid this sounds) he had installed a Cal-Custom chrome scoop style 4-barrell carb air cleaner in the hole. It was apparently an attempt (a very lame one) to get fresh air under the hood. Even I knew that was a travesty. Ive never forgotten that car or that day. It was just weird.......Bill S
