Probably safe to say that like Newman and Mcqueen,Garner enjoyed racing more than acting.

R.I.P. Jimmy.

From Maverick to Rockford I liked James Garner in most everything he did. Just watching Rockfish taught me all I needed to know about making forward and reverse 90 degree turns in the middle of the highway. I'm gonna miss him, but as I'm sure you know, Celluloid Heroes never really die.
