With regards to the original transmission long gone, how much does this affect the value in your opinion?

Jeff...I really don't know...certainly a lot less than if it was the motor. With the ownership history, originality, paperwork and quality this car has...it probably doesn't matter that much at all.
Maybe a better way to answer is this...I've bought a lot of L78 cars over the years...when I looked at this car it didn't make one bit of difference to me. The 'story' of the car includes the tranny swap...back then, they were just cars...people did what they wanted to do. Hope that helps...wilma

Thanks Tom, I agree with your answer also, when I bought my Z/28, the 2nd owner traded the original M-20 for an M-22 and it did not matter to me.
