I realize the early BOP cars used the Ford top loader 3 spd, but did they not use the HD Muncie 3 spd in 1969 like the Chevrolet? It is a very heavy and strong full syncro 3 spd that was introduced in 1968 as the M-13 and I believe that it had a 2.41 low gear ratio.

The dirt circle racers in our area used that transmission through the 70s and 80s because it was very strong and reliable.
