I would think Galen has the best opinion the casting dates for hemi engines, before you purchase only based on a stamp. He may know the casting dates of blocks around the vin of the car you are considering.

I would atleast try to call him and see what he could do to help. I think he does favor hemi cars over all else, maybe the response time would be good.
