I agree, this is a very rare piece, not because of what it is, but because of the mileage. car should be and needs to be preserved, but you can still enjoy it. What can you learn from a car? Not a darn thing, other then Why Bob put a hose clamp on differently then Jack, and why it was done that way? one is installed at the 1:00 position the other car was at 9:00. Thats a mystery? Wow guys look at that, this paint dab on the tie rod end looks like it was put on by going east to west, not north to south like the last car. wonder why they did it that way, thats really strange. so i must of did mine wrong? I don't think because it is a LS6 or a W-30 they built it better or with special care compared to a 6cyl. valiant? We all know that it was just a piece of transportation built by humans, people like us. not really a science, (but you can't help from wondering why and how some things were done). I look back to this day and wonder why i did something like i did just a year ago, let alone 30 years ago. It was just another day at work to them. Always going to be variables from car to car, and it is cool to see those variables. You don't have to drive your cars either for bad things to happen to them either, fire, weather, list goes on. My hat goes off to those who just look at them for enjoyment (for whatever reason), or for the money, or because it has 34.2 or 102,000 miles, its just not in my blood. I will enjoy a piece of history from the driver seat, where I think it really matters. Beautiful car, Jim

Some day, somebody will drive that car. It may be in a collection now, but when we're all dead and gone, who knows. Some crazy, uneducated, that just won the powerball just might have his/her way with it. There's a few guys about a mile from where I live that won a Pa. lottery 10 15 years ago and I see them all the time thrashing nice looking muscle cars up and down the road all the time. Worse yet, somebody that has no idea how to handle big block power can run it into a ditch before it went 6 feet.

If I had the $$$$ I would buy it just to drive it all over the place. And then sell it with 1,000 miles on it.

I don't think you can: "drive all over the place" and have only 1,000 miles on it, LOL, but hey its a start, Jim [img]<<GRAEMLIN_URL>>/

I looked over and under this car for an hour when it was at Mecum Chicago, it's amazing and I love it the way it is.

Tim was that in 2007?
I inspected it in 2007 @ Mecums' Spring outdoor auction in Belvedere Il. @ Boone Co. fairgrounds. Everyone walking buy it,not realizing what it was. Under a make shift tent, but still wet grass,raining/tornado like weather that day too. |

----There are a whole lot of 1970 Chevelles out there to molest any way you want to. The thought that someone should or would go out and drive this particular LS6 piece of art is actually abhorrent to me. Might as well make it into a "pro-touring" car. I know, I know, I already drove it, but that was many, many years ago when I was young and not the brain surgeon I am now.......Bill S
