Charlie,

The car probably came with the stripes because the stripe color is identified on the trim tag after the Z-28. Also the paint code is called out, in this case code 48. I have an almost twin to this car that I have owned for 27 years. It is a completely original stripe delete car except that the 2nd owner that I bought it from disliked the original color (citrus green) and painted it Forest Green in 1976. It has 2 dashes (- -) for the paint code on the trim tag. Does not have a number after the Z-28 on the tag as well. It is an 04B Norwood car. Nice original car you have at a very fair price.
