The "-" indicates the revision. The originals were just stamped "4779", and each time the carb went through an engineering revision it gained a suffix, i.e. "-1", "-2", etc. up until whatever is the current revision.
Note that this applies to most of the over-the-counter type carbs such as the 4776-4781 double pumpers, 1850 and 3310 vacuum secondaries, etc. Also, a carb may have been located, I'll know for certain Monday and will update this thread as necessary. |
