Regarding Oldsmobile assembly line production at the Lansing Plant; Does anyone know for certain if the same gang stamp was to be used for the engine block vin derivative as well as for the trans?

Wow. This looks like a restamp. I have owned many Olds Muncie transmissions and the lettering looked nothing like this.

I am not up on olds but the casting looks unusual around the stamp. Is that normal?

After reviewing this photo, you are correct, the trans is a re-stamp. If you look at everything involved with this car, the informed know it is a fake - plain and simple. The only legitimate authentication for a W-30 is an ORIGINAL build card designating W-30, ORIGINAL window sticker, ORIGINAL dealer invoice, and/or GM of Canada paperwork. Legitimate cars exist with no paperwork, they are just not worth what the &quot;Bullit Proof&quot; and &quot;No Story&quot; cars are worth.
