Mark, I have an article on the Ram Rod and from what I understand it was made years before but as you stated, it wasn't readily available until later on.

Below is a picture of my Ram Rod and boot.

nice kurt! have you noticed that the very early ramrods have a flat blade chrome reverse stick and the late ones have a round black stick.
