Landfall is about an hour away in Atlantic City. Still have power here, wind and rain is really cranking now. I've seen some branches come down, no trees yet and I hope it stays that way.

I'm right in the center of NJ and right now it's blowing pretty hard. Not much rain though (yet). As of yesterday, I was more worried about the rain that was forecast because when Irene hit last year, the whole flood plain behind me came up in my yard and was within less than an inch of flooding a shed with "some" items in there that would not do well underwater. I was very lucky. Yesterday, my wife and I moved a LOT of stuff to another location and I raised many other things off the floor.
One good thing was that this year the town opened the flood gates on the lake to let it drain down ahead of time. Last year the lake was already near full from other rain and it breached the damn due to Irene, and flooded the entire downtown along with 1/2 of my property. Now I'm just a little more worried about the wind because we're surrounded by trees.

Last year:

Here in the Richmond Virginia area, we dodged the bullet, about 2" of rain and the winds never got over 35 MPH, hope Verne and the rest of the Jersey guys are OK this morning.

We made it through just fine. The lights flickered several times last night and there were about 5 blue flashes nearby from transformers blowing up but we never lost power or had any flooding. Just a few limbs around the property.
I hope everyone else avoided damage.

WOW.what a storm!!...made it through..not much on the other side though..no power..no cable..no water.. trees down everywhere..we wont have power for a week..no house or car damage and no flooding so thats good..generator is runing....was more of a wind event than a flood..clean up has begun
