I drill the holes for the staples. I then use a small vice grip and a small piece of wood (used as a spacer, to not damage the w strip).

I install the staple in the holes. Lay the small piece of wood over the staple and vice grip the whole thing together. I then bend over (about 1/2 way) the staple by hand. I then remove the vice grips and wood, and finish bending the ends of the staples over, one side at a time. It is tedious. But the results look perfect.
