Mark, there were ALLOT of Camars built during 05A, those week #'s were not re set like clock work. I think I read 05A was way more than 7 days ?

Brent
Interesting that my black car is BDY 322433 and my vin# is only 27 after yours, most likely built very close together on the same shift.
Also note your bdy # 292934 is quit a bit lower than mine.
only thing that means is your body shell may have spent some time in the body bank with others waiting for all the good stuff to show up, and/or they were batched with other COPO's

They were just a few cars apart on the line.
The low body # means the order was accepted but didn't get scheduled (and hence built) until several weeks later.

Kurt
What do you know about the 05A run, more that a 7 day period ?
Over the years it seems like many of the Camaro's I see are 05A built....

In may they reconfigured the Norwood plant for the Firebird production that started in the second half of May.

That is also the reason for the introduction of the D80 code on the trimtags, to separate the trunklids due to different holes for the spoilers. D80 made sure that a Camaro got a Camaro trunklid.

BTW there are no (or very few) 05B cars. And that might be the reason we see so many 05A cars.

The rear is not orginal to the car .When i talked to the owner who had it in 78 he said he pulled the 12bolt out and tub it and put a dana in it. How does it work. My body number seems very early before the build date on the trim tag. By looking at other trim tags .Is it because it was order early to be built then wait for copo parts then go on the line to be done.If so my x44 plain jane car didnt even come with a radio. It was as base it could get so i dont know why it would be waiting for anything .I know Mike talked about it because of his car body number is diffrent than mine .Does this put the nail in the coffin for being a copo car

Looks like between 7-8 days of production. So not really that different than some other weeks.

I don't mean to high jack Brent's thread....I see that Brent's BDY 322433 is even lower than my 04L tag on my Z, has anyone come up with a good explanation of the O4L?
