Default Re: got my first set of CRAGARS?

Pro Trac offers two different tires for front runners. One size will bulge quite a bit on a narrow rim. The other size doesn't.

If you like tall, like I do, the Moroso Drag Special Front Tires come in 28 and 29 inch tall versions. They've been made in the same molds forever so buying a brand new set is like discovering a vintage NOS set. They are bias-ply though and they do tend to wear a bit quickly, especially on a car that needs a front alignment. The Pro-Tracs are also a nice front tire and I have a very nice vintage NOS set that was recently discovered in a small tire warehouse here in St. Louis but after I mounted them up, they have a really big sidewall bulge. I've never seen a set of front runner tires bulge out the way that they do.

5.20 and 5.60 x 15 are basic old VW tire sizes. That's the size many street rodders use for front tires to get the big and little look. No way is a 5.60 what you would use if you want the tall look. I'm thinking 7.10 at least is what is on the front of the Jenkins Camaro. You gotta remember, dedicated drag race cars put up with a lot of things that weren't really street friendly. Make up your mind what you want, the look, or street manners.

Well said.

This is the 5.60 and the 235/60-15 Pro Tracs on a Vega. 25.88 on the front and 26.65 on the rear.
Good for a smaller car but not for a Chevelle, etc. IMO.
