I think there were only so many hoods to go around and the Pace Cars and COPO's got them first I believe.

Only 11% of all 1969 Z-28s got the ZL-2 hood. So do the math? On the cars you see today! Benny

where can you find a percentage like that?

I understand there were only production totals of all OPTIONS, not combinations of options ...

ie :

10,026 ZL2 hoods for the 1969 model year

subtract 3,675 for all the Z11 pace cars

then subtract whatever number for Z10 pace cars

then subtract whatever number of COPO cars, L72, ZL1, as all of those got the hood

that leaves the number of SS & Z28 Camaros that could have opted for the hood option

1969
SS production: 34,932
Z28 production 20,302

I am not aware of any EXACT number or percentage of Z28's built with ZL-2 hoods (or any other combos), any numbers would only be a WAG based off percentage of the RPO's

Options included with others are not counted. For example Chevrolet lists 116 cars built with CE1 Headlamp Washers. Standard equipment on RS; the 37, 773 Rally-Sports built with them aren't counted and CE1 is not listed on docs.

The ZL2 hood was included with COPOs 9560 & 9561 and is never listed on docs for those cars. Not included in the ZL2 total of 10,026.

Production totals indicate there were 997 L72 COPO Camaros.

So was the ZL2 hood included with the pace cars, or was it listed separately on the window sticker. That's 3000 or so hoods. I'm assuming that they are included in the 10,026 total?

That number depended on how many orders GM received for the cowl hoods.
