At CPX I worked for a former Chevy dealer. He had a yellow/yellow Z/28 demonstrator back in '69 and blew the engine. Shortly after the CE short block was installed it was rear-ended. Of course that was fixed. It was sold as a "demonstrator" April 1970.

In my experience back in the day HP demo cars often had the snot beat out of them by multiple drivers. Many later got a "haircut", fresh tires and were sold as "new."

Apposed to getting the snot beat out of them by a single driver!
