I found out that the 70 and later trans with the fine spline input and large out put have a longer tailshaft with different bolt pattern to mount the bracket to. Your only option is to fabricate a new bracket and then space it out 3/4 inch to match the original bracket.

If you get stuck, pm "crash" as I believe he makes up the mounting plate for the 764 tails with the large yoke to adapt to a 69. He also can be found on camaros.net as "crashent"
