If the partial VIN is on the block and tranny then your answer should be simple. The Muncie stamp will start with a P then an 0 for 1970, then a letter and number for the assembly date, followed by one of three letters: A = m20 B = m21 C = m22
eg: P 0 23 B Muncie trans, 1970, February 23, M-21 close ratio 4 spd. The partial VIN could read: 10Lxxxxxx 1 for Chevy, 0 for 1970, L for Los Angeles plant, last six of the VIN Post the stamping info and we will help decipher. wilma
