Default Re: looking for pics

Take this with a grain of salt.

We vended at the Chevy Tech Center Show about 1984. Vendors had a meet 'n greet with a Chevy Stylist. Of course I asked him about the ZL-1 show car. He *thought* it had been sold as a rolling chassis to someone there who made a race car out of it. The engine went into the '70 Camaro ZL-1 show car; it was updated to '78 or so apperance later on. GM Styling head Bill Mitchell was given the car. His family subsequently sold it after he passed.

Smokey Yunick was a Chevy insider in those days-except in styling. In his book he states that those areas were under constant guard, very limited access. No one came & went casually. Point being few people had knowledge of or access to that car.

The '69 Camaro ZL-1 show car could very easily still exist in unrecognizable form.
