i worked at a chevy dealer in the seventies. you could get a three-on-the-tree in a full size at least thru the '71 model year; possibly up to the '73 models.

We had a '71 3-Tree 250 six banger power steering car at the boneyard where I worked around 79/80..
Across from it sat a '73 Cutlass 3-Tree Oldsie 350 car!.

Full size showroom guide shows 1973 Bel Air came standard with 6 cly. 3 speed manual and Impala/Caprice V-8 auto. Shows V-8 N/A with manual trans. DOC
