X11 is for style trim, X44 is a base Camaro. Where do the heater hoses enter the heater box on the firewall? Big block cars entered on the outside, all of the other motors on the inside.
Big block heater box with X11 = COPO.
Next question, what is the code on the axle?

Here's more:

If you could respond to Yenko that the car has the SS pittman arm, the brake brackets, no bracket for dual exhaust (although I believe that is documented as hit and miss. It doesn't currently have a 12 bolt in it but there are definite and obvious signs that the rear suspension is not original to the car, mix matched bolts and rusty patterns. There is also Chevrolet documentation that states 10 bolts were available in SS350s. So far I have found some things to indicate that it could be and nothing to say absolutely that it is or isn't.

10-bolt have been observed in SS350 cars when they were ordered with PowerGlide, rare choice but there are a few known.
