Default Re: Jim Morrison '67 GT500

Geez there's some uptight guys on the Shelby board. All the attitude about Morrison being a "stoner" is kinda funny. If it really matters, most accounts say that he was mostly kickin it old school (w/ demon alcohol) by the time he grew the beard.

That car is the Holy F'n Grail as far as I'm concerned. One of my favorite cars, in my favorite color combo, owned by one of my favorite singers. My friend here in WA owns one of the other Dk Blue/Parchment 4 speed cars, and they are goregeous. The thing that really makes it is that he never had any other cool cars, just this one. And he liked it so much he named it "The Blue Lady". The fact that there's this great footage of him in just makes it that much cooler.

Unless somebody uncovers a '67 L88 Corvette ordered and driven by one of the Beatles, Jimbo's Shelby is the ultimate overlap of my passions. I tend to think its gone on to the next life with its owner. But if, somehow, it turns up as a legitimate barn find with the desert dust intact (not built from tags and a title), its a multimillion dollar ride for sure.

That documentary is a nice introduction for those who want to learn more about the band, but is far from a definitive work on the band. Most of the footage doesn't quite match the timeline of the narration (1968 footage while they talked about late 1966 stuff, etc).
