I spoke with him. Apparently he repainted the front fenders (including the stripes) because there were a few dents from elbows leaning on the fenders... count me out! Those dents would have added nothing but character IMHO.

Experts have been strangly quiet about this car...

But I would like to know if it's real!

First I prefer in preservation verses restoration but I think this is a nice car. If done right it still will retain over 75% original paint. It is also his loss he tore it apart and your gain. You would have to rebuild the drivetrain anyway. With that said it is unusual for a race car to have a born with block. 842s where known for dropping valve seats.

I've had several conversations on the phone and by emails for the past 8 days with Joel. I have only asked him for one thing and one thing only,a clear and clean picture of the broach marks. I won't go into all of his excuses for the past 8 days, but I knew a few days ago this would be the wind-up...a blurry picture. Just a couple days ago the block and heads were going to be loose with the other parts, can you guess why he decided to have the engine put together fast fast. I just can't believe if those are real bids, what are they thinking?

When you don't see any intersted parties talking openly about it that means there is a lot of behind the sceans action. This could get interesting.

OMG! I can't believe he did some paint work! I bet he lost $40k because of that mistake. I would have been interested, but not now. Original paint is priceless!
