Restoring a 69 COPO. Will have maybe 1 tank of fuel run thru it a year.Have 3/8 dimple rods and 6223 crank. Machine shop is going to cross over the GM piston # that came out of the motor and see what they come up with. Going to call Comp cams tech line and see what they say for a replacement solid lifter cam.Not trying to redesign the world, just get back to stock.
Thanks for the reply, Andy. |

Comp will have a cam that will be in the same zip code, but that will be as close as it gets...someone here on this site mentioned just this week that they got a cam from Comp that was supposed to be their restoration grind, and it was a tight lash cam with augmented specs. It would work, and work fine, but won't be identical to stock...
However (wait for it! ) we actually cnc copied the correct cam, and do a "group buy" from time to time...matter of fact, I've had a little interest lately, so maybe you could go that direction. Looks like you have the rods/crank covered, and the TRW L2268F pistons would be the closest to stock (I believe that's the correct #, someone might wanna check that). |

I would be interested in more info on this "group buy" cam.
