I wanted to bring this topic back to the top:
Our little dog Garth died unexpectedly Tuesday and has left a very large hole in my heart. I am thankful for the time we had with him but miss him very much. I wouldn't feel right if I didn't mention again that Garth was rescued from a puppy mill when he was about 3-4 years old and we found him through a Sheltie rescue program. I would only ask that anyone that is thinking of getting a dog please consider getting one from a shelter or rescue program. There are lots of great dogs of all ages and breeds that really need a home.
