that is correct jason.if I had a 69-72 metal dash panel to compare to the 68 it would be easy to see if it is a minor or major change, surely somebody out there has ran into this before.Chris

Post a picture of the area that is rusted. You can section the area in under the windshield with out replacing the entire dash top, or disturbing the VIN nbr.

Chris,
I have to do the same to the 68 nova I am restoring also. I am going to use the 68 camaro dash panel, it looks the same to me. I was at spring Carisle the past couple of days and couldn't find the 68 camaro dash panel to look at! No one had it! Let me know how you make out. I will be getting mine in a couple of months when I place my sheet metal order. Jason |

The piece you need, that goes under the windshield, if I'm understanding you correctly is compatible with the Nova dash from classic, or other dealers. There is no real need to replace the entire dash top, if you only have issues under the windshield area. By sectioning in that area with the windshield area from a new piece, you don't have to remove the VIN which is frowned on by law enforcement.

With my 68 it is up into the top of the dash more. I will buy the 68 camaro top dash panel and graft it into the original nova panel. Most likely from one side to the other. Very common on these cars as you know. I won't have to remove the vin plate on my car just cut around it.
