No disrespect to our female members but man those photos just remind me how much I miss the late 60's/early 70's girls in automotive advertising...high heels, short skirts and car parts just go together so well!!!

Coming soon in an issue of Muscle Car Enthusiast is a good-size article I wrote that looks back at my old speed shops (seventies and early eighties). It was a cool assignment. I used some old faded photos we had and coupled it with first person perspective. One cool photo I found was of me and a set of the first d-port big block heads ever released. I was kneeling beside my 1968 Z/28....it had 1400 or so miles on it and was turned into a race car. It was campaigned with a whole bunch of different small and big block combinations in both Super Stock and Modified Eliminator. Yikes. In the background in that photo is a set of Hooker race headers, an ACCEL BEI, an ACCEL starter and a set of tall Moroso valve covers. There was an LS7 sitting on the engine stand behind me. Talk about Day 2!
Anyway, watch for the article. I had a really good time writing it. Wayne ![]() |
