It was pretty unique for it's time.
This very limited traction option was listed as RPO V75-Traction compound and Dispenser cost $23.20. They installed it in 278 vehicles during 1969,188 of those were in Camaros. A button is depressed by the driver that allows manifold vacuum to be rerouted to a spring loaded cannister or two mounted in the trunk,behind the rear wheel(s).Inside those cannisters was a single aerosol can of liquid ether,(ice melter),that dispensed into the tire tread while spinning and was supposed to help melt away any gripping ice/snow.
