Spot on! I just ordered up a spare set of NGK's to swap out - mine is starting to stumble a bit because I've been idling around town with the track fat jets in it. I'm suspecting they are a bit fouled, we'll see!

All the finish dyno pulls we have made on the LS6 motors were using NGK and there was a noticable improvement over the stock plugs. Once the dyno pulls are made I reinstall the AC plugs for correctness.

I really don't remember why I even tried them (even against my own father's advice!) but I've always had really good luck with the Champions in my closed-chamber LS-6. I'll have to look at the number of them because I can't remember right now, but there's a way to change a digit or two in the plug # to revert down to a 5/8 plug from that giant 13/16 plug. That really made plug changes a little easier especially on a car with headers. If anybody's interested, I'll get the numbers.

I used to run strictly AC plugs. After reading Toms's posts about NGK plugs I gave them a try because I was having a miss at cruise rpm in my new 406. After putting the NGK plugs in it, I've had great results. The engine runs so much better. I have since put NGK plugs in everything else I own and I noticed a performance/drivabilility improvement in each vehicle. Whats great about it is that they are only $2. I have an auto restorer magazine at home that I recently got in the mail and they did a comparison on 12 or so different spark plugs. They ranged in price from about $1.50 to $12.00. The regular NGK plugs won the contest. The next time I go home I'll try to scan the article in so everyone can read it.

[/ QUOTE ]I only run the old AC plugs. Maybe the new ones are junk. I tried the NGK's and had good results but they did seem to foul a little around town over the older AC's. I am a little rich in the primaries too. I also had good luck with the Autolite 85 or 86's.
