Every year, the swap meet area gets smaller and smaller.

Since you have a link to your ebay auctions under your posts, that might be a clue as to why they're all getting smaller.....

In 2009 The SuperCar Workshop and all their friends, customers put together that Bldg display to recreate a 69' Chev dealer showroom. This was a display 2nd to none.

G.M. Carlisle certainly has some negative issues, and not does not have wide spread support past the American Camatro Assoc "Camaros at Carlisle" (show within a show)

Still overall its a great show with plenty to see....

Will the SuperCar Showroom be back this year?

That in itself is worth the trip !

Verne,
Even though I list on ebay weekly, that doesn't stop me from selling at the GM Nationals every single year since the inaugural year. I guess I should have been more thorough with my post. Compared to the All Ford and All Mopar Nationals, GM has the smallest swap area and Carlisle Productions has been condensing the swap area ever since the first year of the show. I don't understand why the GM show isn't anywhere near as popular as the Ford or Chrysler show.

You are right about that Matt. Maybe because the GM guys have been doing this longer or there are many more shows for the GM stuff or all the GM stuff has been exhausted or most of the GM cars are done or......... but you are right. It is less and less every year. Verne and Ronnie Evans always have good Day-2 stuff or some real vintage 409 parts and so forth.

I know ebay has cut into everything but I am also surprised that the GM Nats hasn't grown. It's the best place to buy or sell large or heavy stuff though. Shipping costs can really add up and you can avoid possible shipping damage. Cash & carry.

Is it still pretty high rent at Carlisle? I haven't been there in a few years. I tried it at being a parts peddler and even tried to sell 4 cars there once inside and outside of the gate.

I would rather deal with PeeBait than being a vendor at a decent size swap. I can list, answer questions, and pack the items that I sell in my underwear on my own time than spend a day packing before the swap, few hours setting up, few hours taking down, few hours setting up, etc then have everyone wonder why I won't sell them a 4346 Holley for $100 or a set of 074's for $500 or a set of 690s for $800. Then go home and spend another day putting it all away.

I brought a Sata spray gun with once. Put a price tag of $175 on it. If I could of got a $1 for each guy who fondled it, I could of had $500-1000. Put it on ebay a few weeks after the show, it brought almost $300.

I watch everyone that walks up, start some small talk and will say hi to 95% of the people out there that walk up. I used to have fun with it, but it finally took a toll on me with the rude people. A guy can only get beat up soo much. My wife used to come with and even comment how in the last few years how people became rude with their attitude toward her and business 101.

For as little as $25 a year, you yourself can post classified ads on this great site as well as sell at Carlisle too.
