Just curious but what oil pump you were running? A lot of guys run high volume high pressure pumps and they are very hard on bronze distributor gears. I just ordered a new billet roller cam for a build I am doing right now and have been warned by a few friends to run a normal oil pump with standard volume and pressure. That alone is supposed to really help limit the wear on the bronze dist gear. I guess I'll know when I start changing the oil a few times. Motor is finished up this week and can't wait to run it. Gonna order up one of the Mac's Tilters.

Looks like your having fun anyways! </div></div>

The new cam is on an iron core............no more bronze gears. I do have a high volume pump. It's just what the engine builder prefers for this type of application. I did speak about the whole pump versus gear discussion. In short, he asked me if I'd rather change a dizzy gear as opposed to a cam. No real good way around it.

Certainly, big valve springs do not help matters.........

We will see. Should have it running in a few weeks or sooner!

Finally........................got parts back from the powder coater. Now I can get going again.

I tweaked the right side header to give some more room around the frame rail. I also added O2 bugs for fuel injection at a later date. Fresh ceramic coating too!

Powder coated the bellhousing

Reinstalled the clutch.............

Adjustable fork pivot................

And installed the clutch slave......

And then found out I was shipped the wrong clutch fork. Soooooo.........I wait for the right one to be delivered.

I'm changing back to a regular shifter. Of course, the needed work as it was assembled wrong. Plus the fellow I bought it from gave me the wrong 1-2 rod

Now that's set up and adjusted...............

Unfortunately, I wanted to set the engine and trans in today and that will have to wait a bit until the new fork gets here

Ended up using a different slave / bracket / fork combination. It's a sturdier set up and packaged a little tighter. This will help with the headers.

Ready to drop now.................just need a helper!

Yes it is Gary. I'll follow up with my thoughts on it after I get it going.
