After a lot of work by Mark 396L35, there are still many questions to be answered before the final product can be made. The photo of Wild Bills camaro has a sticker that is totally different from Mark's original bumper sticker which was viewed over the weekend by Dan Vasik. The difference is that Marks is a black oval with the letters die cut out, which when put on a chrome bumper you see a chrome back ground. The picture of Bills sticker has a colored trim edge and looks to be whit or antique white in color. Is there anyone out there who has, knows of or remembers these stickers that can add to the process? I have the files nessicary to make the stickers and can do any color or cut but there seems to be a conflict to what is correct. If Marks original sticker has the letters die cut out, would this sticker have ever been put on a trunk lid or always a bumper?

I only remember seeing the stickers with the white letters. Never saw one that had chrome or body color showing through.

Thanks Dan for the pics. Was there several designs over the years? Was the design as pictured just for bumpers and the other for a painted surface although I doubt any dealer in the day would have gone as far to have two stickers for a common purpose. I think all can agree that this is an interesting comparison. Which is right for a 69 car?

Patrick, thanks for the call today - looks like your going ahead with the South Bend Stickers!

Anyone out here on the site interested in the same sticker except it has Mishawaka on it? I'm planning, with the help of the help of Patrick, use his Gates Template and have about 10 of these made.

Pls let me or Patrick know if there is any interest in purchasing one or more of the Mishawaka stickers.

Thanks in advance and great work by Patrick and others to sort this out!

A big thanks to John Brown who went to Mishawaka today to talk to a current employee Larry Mitchell with Gates since the 60's and really pinned the sticker down and remembered it well. He said that after several complaints of stickers that were put on painted trunk lids causing a problem when removed, ALL were put on the bumpers in the day. Cool stuff! I will have the Gates South Bend stickers Monday. Any takers besides Ed?
