There is no further news on the white one pictured. The owner has been accused of faking the car enough by internet experts that he has no further interest in proving it is real. I know it is real. The Sacramento Camaro club people know it is real. he has the build sheet and has shown it to club members. I'll up my bet to 10,000.00 that the car and paperwork are real. Jack knows as much about 70 Camaro's as anyone.

That’s weird, an automatic deluxe interior 375 car with a wood grain console plate.
The 4 speed 375 cars had a black plate with deluxe interior. ![]()

Ignore the interior. Jack has changed the color and interior over the years. It was even his tow vehicle to tow one of his other 70's to the drags....

Nobody (especially me) is going to win a $10K pixxing contest with Charley.
That White car has too many misc issues. To each there own, but I will never believe it is a born with G.M. L-78/M-40 until Mike Steitz and/or Jack Seymour inspect car on a lift. as Frank says...."What do I know, I didnt write a book"

Thanks to everyone who provided information on this subject. The 70 L78 Auto is approved. I received this from Supercars and it is also posted on their forum.
http://www.supercarraces.com/phpBB3/...?f=4&t=673 Nothing from FAST yet. SUPERCARS APPROVAL Most of the MuscleCars raced are common models with multiple examples readily available for an enthusiast to look over and pick as the musclecar they want to race in the SuperCar ShootOut Series. Some models were produced in limited numbers for public use and are not so common. For this reason we allow our racers, current and future to show proof through research of a MuscleCars existence. Any Racer can present a MuscleCar to the board for approval to compete in the SuperCar ShootOut Series. We have been asked to look over documentation, production numbers and printed materials for approval to build and compete a 1970 Chevrolet Camaro SS396 L78 equipped with an automatic transmission in the SuperCar ShootOut Series. The builder of said model has brought forward documentation to prove production of said model. Through our research and the research of said builder, we hereby acknowledge that the SuperCar Rules Committee is satisfied that Chevrolet has built one or more examples of said model for sale to the general public. Let it be known it is the builders responsibility to continue to research production information and numbers to present to SuperCars if continued documentation is needed in the future. As of the writing of this letter of approval, we are satisfied with the documentation presented to SuperCars to allow the build of said 1970 Chevrolet Camaro SS396 L78 Automatic for competition in the SuperCar ShootOut Series. The Approved MuscleCar will be allowed to compete thirty days after review of said letter by our racers through the SuperCar ShootOut Series Forum. All Racers may feel free to comment, question or inquire about the legality of said model. All comments questions or inquiries need to be addressed to the Rules Committee in the form of an E-Mail, ([email protected]) or Private Message to SuperCar Races Member Ralph Barbagallo. All inquires will be reviewed by the Rules Committee and a response will be sent to the inquirer within 7 days. _________________ SuperCarRaces American MuscleCar Racing Ralph Barbagallo Sharleen Barbagallo Ted Daros Chris Kuskowski http://www.SuperCarRaces.com |
