They're really only good in the spring when they come out of hibernation for a while. Actually the tail is supposed to be good.
The dumb ones will stand up if you whistle. Makes for a good head shot. Anyway....that's what I've heard.

  BTW, Punxsy is only 25 miles from where the Roof Deuce lived! My Grand Pappy had an auto parts store there too.
