This thread is funny and timely since I just had procedure last Monday. For those that are simply doing this to screen for colon cancer triggered by your age be thankful that you do not have a GI condition as I do. I get the pleasure of this procedure every 2 years for the past 20 years since being diagonosed.
 Now, Dr wants to do it every year, give me a break!  While being prepped for procedure this time, there was what sounded like a grandfatherly aged man in next prep stall and nurse asked if he had ever had the procedure before. He replied, "Oh I had it many years ago before all this fancy high tech equipment. Dr. told me to bend over and hold onto that chair tight"  One recommendation to all who will have this done, relay to nurse and Dr. that you want plenty of medication so as not to feel or be aware of any part of it. The instructions call for only clear liquids on Sunday...I decided to start early...a Hendrick's martini tonite...maybe two

Spoke to Tibor today...he won't be joining me for the blessed event....not sure about Cumby, he has to get permission from Howie. Looks like I may be all alone...even Karen is leaving town for some liberal shindig...but don't worry, I'll make it to the finish line. Ken told me to be brave..Sammy said, don't worry it will be quick and painless..kind words from a man who changes diapers for a living.

Can't make it; gotta work Monday. I'm passin the baton to Howie. He's the guy with the experience in all-things-colon. Plus; Iowa just passed this law .............
 ........ more on that later.Have the Doc give him a call if he hits any roadblocks.  Just a thought though; since 'things' tend to shrink up a little in cold weather, I wonder if this procedure would be more tolerable in a warmer climate? Say Phoenix in August??????
