Thanks I was looking for TRWs but cannot locate a set of them [/ QUOTE ]I believe you have to fly cut the TRW's. I have TRW's in mine (30 over)and they only came with the bigger 12 to 1 dome. |

TRW's have the thin rings too. Not the best for a street Z28. Been down that road many years ago.

Right about the thin rings. Got along so far with them but the car only gets driven 1 to 2X a week. So far so good!

I received an email from Jerry MacNiesh and he uses JE pistons. I will call them tomorrow and see what they have

When I built my 302, years ago, TRW was all that was out there. I had .200 taken of the domes to make them 11 to 1. I also had the ring lands opened for stock rings. Wasn't building a race motor. Was looking for long life....Joe

I've barried the tach on mine after balancing. With 4.56 gears, it doesn't take long to get there.....Joe

The car has the CE engine in it now and with 3:73 gears it may have seen 6000 rpm. I am not sure if the CE motors were balanced from GM or not.
