Hello
Just wondering where you guys find correct appearing ignition wires for these cars?? I saw that Year One has some offered, but not sure how correct they are- and they didn't stock them anyway. Are they all the same- or is there a "best" of what is out there?? The car I am working on is a 67 Impala SS396. Thanks MB |

-----Mike,,,"Lectric Limited" is, I believe, the source. The wires are not known for their longevity but as far as dated wires I think they have the only show in town.........Bill S

A few years ago I bought a set from GM. They won't have the right date codes and may not be correct looking to the perfectionist but they look fine to me and have been on our 396 car for 6-7 years.

I would check with Don at M Parker Autoworks. Their trade name is Factory Fit. Don is also an avid Impala guy. Dan

I've had a set of their dated wires on my Chevelle for six years now. I did have an issue with them a couple of years ago; three wires developed bulges in the outer coating. I called Year One to ask if they had seen this problem (honestly, not a complaint; just a question), and they put me in touch with the manufacturer. When I spoke with them they indicated they had never heard of the problem before but immediately asked for my name and mailing address. They sent a replacement set free of charge. These may not be the best choice for true performance, but for appearances and basic operation I can't complain.

I have had issues with several of the Mopar sets I have used in the past on some builds here. I even used them initially on some of the FAST builds I did here, but they worked OK for a while then started to crap out. I won't be pushing these to the limit. This is a car I don't plan to drive hard or often and just think they might look good and serve the purpose for now. As nutty as I am, I may just build a killer stock appearing 511 and go kick some azz with this black beast-Then I will have to get serious ![]() MB |
