There are other browsers that are better and quicker than IE, for example Firefox or Apples Safari for Windows (it is 8 times faster than IE8) One other benchmark, IE8 is 21% accurate in showing HTML and CSS, Safari is 100% Jan, a very satisfied Mac user.
