Hey Folks, I need to know if there's a way to verivy the VIN on a supposed 1970 Nova. It has a window sticker that says it was a 6 cylinder, Powerglide car, with a stamp that says "Yenko Racing" or something to that affect. It's Cranberry Red & is being sold with a bill of sale only, no other documentation. I need to know ASAP any info to try & verify this car as a hit, or s***! Please help!!
Thanks! |

Already did, thank you. The wierd thing about this one is the guy who owns it says it was bought by a dealer, sent down to be converted & sold at another dealer other than Yenko Chevy. Does this sound right? It also doesn't have the original engine, however, it is an LT-1. What's it worth without the docs, & restored?

What channels do you have to go through to verify the cars authenticity if you do not have anything other than the window sticker & VIN????

Look at the Vin# if the third number is not a even # it's a 6 Cyl. car.

"Look at the Vin# if the third number is not a even # it's a 6 Cyl. car."
It is a 3. I stated it was a 6 cylinder 2 speed car. The owner stated that it was a car from a dealer that was sent out for a conversion & sold from that dealer, not Don's. Kinda like the new Hennessey Camaro SS. Does anyone know if this was done back then? Also is there a "Yenko Archive" where you can track the cars or VIN'S that were done by him or his dealership? "What are you trying to verify that it is?" A Yenko Nova. That is what I'm trying to verify. It looks really close to what it should. The door panel trim that says Yenko looks as old as the car. Subframe connectors look correct, ladder bars, TH 400 with floor shift & rally gage pack, etc... If this is a clone, it's a very believeable clone. I need to know if anyone has the archives to the dynasty, & how to gather more info on this car. Can GM still track a VIN from that era???? |

[/ QUOTE ] I suggest you post pics of the window sticker, and/or docs you have. The VIN nbr, and trim tag info. When you ask questions about a car that appears to be different from the norm, you need to supply all the pertinent info for folks to try to make an informed judgement. Without seeing what you have, we are just guessing. ![]() Pics of the car including underhood shots would help too. : |
