My first car was a 1959 Chevy Impala with a 409 in it. I was 15 at the time and just bought it for $300 from our next door neighbour. I have that car still----

Found this photo of my first car a a race at Argenta Newfoundland in the summer of 1972. Our track was the US Airforce runway at NAS Argentia. My first car was a 68 Camaro in Corvette Bronze. Poor photo as the fog was rolling in. Car on the left is a 68 442 convert that I owned the following year. The Camaro was a 275 horse 327 that was equipped with a TH400 by the time this photo was taken.

Still have it; '74 Chevelle, 454, turbo 400, 3.42 posi. 8" Corvette rally wheels with Goodyear white stripe tires.
My dad ordered this car for my mom to drive and I got it when she was done with it. Been racing this same car for 35 years; first pass was a 14.90, latest best is 9.85 @ 136 mph. I dated my wife in this car and still have both! Vintage pics: ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()
