Rob added a power invertor to our new trailer and when we checked on it a few days lalter, it had melted most of the wiring to and from it, melted the fuse holder, maybe even the fuse, but never blew the fuse. We were lucky it was not worse.

I use the inverter frequently and used to leave it plugged into cigarette lighter in my pick up...USED TO !!

I'm surprised there's power to the docking station with the key off. They should be dead with the key off. My pick-up lighter won't work with the ignition off. My Wifes car is the same. It's a little annoying, when the gps goes off when you stop for gas, or some other items that need charging, but now I know it's probably a good thing.
